Meet the Nature Ridge School Nurse

| Hello! My name is Karen Chapman, RN, BSN, ILCSN, MA |
I am the Certfied School Nurse at Nature Ridge Elementary.I earned my Master of Arts degree in Curriculum Design from Concordia University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Northern Illinois University, and my Illinois School Nurse Certification from National Louis University. I also have Illinois Types 34 and 73 Teaching Certificates.
I work with students, families and school staff to promote health, prevent illness, manage chronic health problems and care for acute illness and injuries, I am also responsible for health related educational evaluations, such as ADHD assessments. Part of my job includes being a member of the Service Team and participating in Special Education planning. I can also assist you with referrals to community health resources, including low cost medical care, vision services, and hearing assessments.
