Vision Statement Defined
(Developed May 6, 2005 SIP Day)


This is our vision for Willard Elementary School and we believe it will be a reality when we see the following occurring on a consistent basis:

  •     People are valued
  • Students are respectfully instructed, disciplined and lead in a  learning process that recognizes individual learning needs
  • Teachers are honored as professionals by everyone in the learning community
  • Parents are welcomed participants in the learning culture
  • Support staff are appreciated for their contributions to the learning community

 

  • High standards of behavior are consistently expected for ALL students

 

  • ALL students are expected to reach high levels of performance consistent with Illinois State Learning Standards and based on assessments for and of learning

 

  • Effective communication flows among members of the learning community

 

  • Collaboration is viewed as a vital component to accomplishing our goals

 

  • Learning community leaders are engaged in continuous Professional Development


Who we want to become as members of our learning community:

  • Skilled professionals, invested parents and engaged students continually learning and growing in their ability to contribute


To what we aspire as instructional leaders:

  • To deliver best practice instruction, driven by assessments, targeted towards identified benchmarks and aligned with State Learning Standards.
