Parents and Teachers of Harriet Gifford

     Parents and Teachers of Harriet Gifford meet the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the library. Childcare is provided. Every parent is welcome to attend and get involved. Some of the key P.T.H.G sponsored events include our Family Picnic, Book Fairs, Bingo Night, Santa's Shop, Flea Market and an end of the year Fun Fair.

P.T.H.G Mission

     The P.T.H.G exists to suppport students and teachers in providing supplemental activities to enhance the educational experience of all children.

P.T.H.G Meetings

P.T.H.G. meets on the first Tuesday of each month in the school Learning Center.  Meetings begin at 6:30PM. Parents should use the Learning Center entrance located on Meyer St.  Children are welcome to come with parents.

Parent Involvement

     Students success is directly tied to the involvement of a parent in their child's education.  Opportunities are provided for parents to volunteer in the classroom, home and during school events.  If you are interested in volunteering some time, please contact your child's teacher or the principal.

P.T.H.G Supported Projects

Classroom field trips, Supplemental Material for classrooms, D.A.R.E, Outdoor Education, Field Day, 6th Grade Graduation, Young Authors, Read 180 Tutoring, Santa Shop, Family Night, Classroom Readers, Volunteers, Student Display Case, and School Popcorn Maker.

P.T.H.G Fundraising

Parents can help support the P.T.H.G by participating in the following activities. Activities help bring additional funds to help support P.T.H.G projects.

 Boxtops for education:    Clip Box tops from hundreds of General Mills products and send them in to school. The P.T.H.G receives .10 for each box top received.

 Campbell's Labels for Education:   Clip the front label from eligible Campbell products and send them to school.  P.T.H.G redeems these for equipment for the school.  For a list of eligible products please contact the school office.

 Inkjet Cartride Recycling:   Turn in your empty printer inkjet or laser cartridges to the school.  They are shipped to a recycling company that pays the P.T.H.G for the empty cartridges.  Some parents  have their places of work save cartridges for the school.

School Spirit Sale:  Students and parents can show their school pride by wearing Gifford Gear. Watch for Gifford Wear info.

Fast Food Nights:  Join friends and staff on selected Fast Food Nights.  The most popular is McDonald's Night, offered two times during the school year.
