Attendance
School District U-46 has a comprehensive attendance policy that deals with two
components of student absenteeism: overall absences and class tardies/truancies.
Overall Absences
Students who are absent for a total of 18 days during 1st semester or 25 days during the year may be expelled or may with-draw (with parents permission) if they are 17 years of age or older. Students under the age of 17 may be assigned to the Alternative Education High School. All excused, truant, and or suspensions absences are included in the total.
Class tardies/trunacies
The High School Attendance Program (HSAP) involves a step system of numerous interventions
that actively involves the students, parents, and school staff, which includes teachers,
counselors, and administrators.
