School Closing

Procedimiento de Cierre Escolar

There are many ways to find out if school is cancelled due to bad weather.

If schools will be closed, or early dismissals or late openings are necessary, the closing will be broadcast on several local and Chicago-area radio stations. These include:

AM stations:
WRMN (1410)
WMAQ (67)
WGN (720)
WBBM (78)
WLS (890)
FM stations:
WJKL (94.3)
B96
WLS-FM  
WEPS 88.9 (District radio station)
Information also will be telecast on TV stations:
WMAQ (channel 5)
WGN (Channel 9)
Fox 32

The district will attempt to contact all local and Chicago media by 6:00 a.m.

The closings will also be posted on our district website:
www.u-46.org
You can click on weather closings. You may also sign up for email notification at this website. If school is closed you will automatically be notified.  Click on “Sign up for district e-mails” - “school closings”.

You may also call the district’s central office at 847-888-5000. You will hear an outgoing message stating that school is cancelled. This message will be recorded as soon as the decision has been  made to cancel school.


Hay muchas maneras de saber si las escuelas están canceladas por el mal tiempo.

Si se cierran las escuelas, o hay despedidas tempranas, o retraso en abrir las escuelas  son necesarias, el cierre será transmitida por varias estaciones de radio en Chicago.  Estos incluyen:

Usted puede oprimir el weather closing.  También anótese para recibir correo electrónico el cual le notificara en esta pagina del Internet.  Si Habrá cierre de escuela usted será notificado automáticamente en su correo electrónico.  Oprime “Sign up for district e-mails” - “school closings’.
Usted también puede llamar a la oficina central del distrito al 847-888-5000.  Usted escuchara un mensaje notificándole que las clases han sido canceladas.  Este mensaje será grabado tan pronto la decisión sea hecha en cuestión de cerrar las escuelas.
