U- 46 Plazas Comunitarias 

U-46 Plazas Comunitarias is an educational program designed to provide literacy, primary and secondary education as well as computer education. Plazas Comunitarias has as objectives provide education, information, and communication to the Latino adult population in the community, use education as a tool for self-improvement, and to bring parents and children together to improve academic achievement.   School District U-46 has a partnership with the National Institute for Adult Education INEA in Mexico.

U-46 ESL Adult Education

 

 As part of our efforts in involving parents in the educational journey of U-46 students’ learning, the ELL office provides ESL classes for parents of the U-46 community. The program is offered from the beginning of second semester until May at different school sites. ESL classes are conducted by U-46 teachers and homework club is offered to the children whose parents are taking classes. Learning together for a better future!

Bilingual Parents Advisory Committee             

Article 14C of the Illinois School Code requires that each district implementing a state mandated Transitional Bilingual Education Program establishes a Bilingual Advisory Committee (BPAC) consisting of parents of ELL students enrolled in the district ELL programs. The BPAC is coordinated by the ELL Educational Services Office.
