On the first day of school, the hot lunch menu for the first month will be sent home.  Please return it as soon as possible.  Lunch menus must be returned by the date specified on the menu in order for lunches to be ordered on time.

PURCHASING LUNCHES

Lunches can only be purchased in advance by filling out a lunch menu and cannot be purchased at the school on a daily basis.

If your child is buying lunch or milk, please send the money to school in an envelope with your child’s name, teacher's name, and their grade printed on the front.  Be sure to include the slip with their lunch choices and return it by the specified date on the lunch menu.  You may send cash or a check.  When sending cash, please include exact change.  All checks should be made payable to:  Hanover Countryside School.  If your child is absent on a paid day, that amount will be credited to your child’s account.  Please contact us to let us know when you would like to use it.  Menus are sent home monthly with each student and should be returned by the date indicated on the form.

PURCHASING MILK ONLY

The “complete meal” includes one ½ pint of milk.  However, if students bring their lunch, they may purchase milk at 40¢ per day.  Students may bring a beverage from home, but it must be in a proper container.  Cans or glass containers are not acceptable.  POP AND OTHER CARBONATED DRINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED.

If you send your child with something that requires a spoon, please send it with their lunch.  We do not have utensils at school.

Did you lose your menu? Did the kids forget to bring the menu home from school?  Now you can view the menu on line, and even print a copy of it for your convenience.

LUNCH TIMES AND LOCATIONS

Students have 45 minutes for lunch.  Approximately half of that time will be spent in the school eating, and the other half will be recreation period outside.  In case of bad weather, recreation time will be held in your child’s classroom.

                                       Grades 4, 5, 6 11:50 – 12:35

MISBEHAVIOR

School rules will be enforced, and you will be notified if your child is not abiding by these rules.  We reserve the right to remove a misbehaving child from his assigned eating place and even suspend him from the lunch program, if necessary.  We expect the children to respect and obey all lunchroom supervisors at all times (including lunchtime recreation period).  Please refer to the parent handbook to familiarize your child with lunchroom rules and procedures.
