First Grade News!

The first grade classrooms have completed their literacy testing and have started guided reading groups.  All families are encouraged to read to and with their children.  Many students will be bringing book bags home to practice their reading.  Parents need to sign the reading logs to indicate that they have listened to their child read.  If you want your child to be a good reader, they must practice. The Gail Borden Library is a great place to borrow books from.  Students are also learning about numbers in math and writing stories.  We will be setting up family conferences very soon.  If you want to observe in your child’s classroom, please contact your teacher.
