The Center House Transition Program Curriculum is based on the District U-46 Functional Curriculum. This program focuses on functional life skills and teaches functional academics by embedding them into the daily activities. It is student driven and utilizes an outcome oriented approach. Students develop their own personal programs according to their individual needs on a daily and weekly basis.
Since most peoples' lives can be divided into four basic domains, the curriculum focuses on these areas:
Work
Home
Community
Recreation and Leisure
Related services are delivered using an integrated model. All support staff provide services in the natural environment in order to develop skills necessary to further students' independence.
