U46 Library Mission Statement

As an integral part of the educational program of School

District U-46, it is the mission of the library to provide the learning community with a broad range of print and electronic materials, build information literacy skills, support library and classroom curriculum, foster a love of reading, and to encourage

life-long learning.

To be information literate, a person must be able to recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and effectively use the needed information.

Para poder convertirse en una persona alfabetizada en información, se debe ser capaz de reconocer cuando la información en necesaria y tener la habilidad de localizarla, evaluarla y utilizar dicha inforacion de manera efectica.
