 My name is Nancy Stade and I have been teaching in School District U-46 for twenty-five years.  I have taught at Creekside School since we opened in 1998.

Curriculum

Reading: Guided Reading, Shared Reading, Making Meaning, Individual Daily  Reading (IDR)

Language Arts: Being A Writer, Daily Language Review

Spelling: Pretest on Monday, test on Friday

Math: Everyday Math

Science: Foss Science

Homework Policy:

First grade students are expected to read or be read to for 20 minutes a day.  They should keep a record of their reading homework on a monthly reading log.  The reading log is to be turned in at the end of each month.

 

Homework will be given to first grade students most days.  The homework assignment is due the next day unless otherwise indicated on the sheet.  Failure to return homework the day it is due will result in the student not getting a "Good Day Award" on that day.

 

Absent Work:

Missed work will be available to students upon their return to school.
